There a few simple things you can check and prepare for when hiring a car. Here a few things to look for to unsure you don’t run into any problems.

1) When you arrive at Murcia Airport to pick up your car, take a minute to have a good look at your road map. Work out exactly how you intend on getting to your destination. Getting lost can lead to heightened levels of stress and frustration for all members of your traveling party.

2) Take a minute to sit in your hire car and make a mental note of where everything is such as windscreen wipers, locks, window controls, air conditioning etc. Don’t start fiddling with radio controls while driving. Set this up to your liking before you hit the road.

3) Take your time and don’t be rushed by any impatient drivers. Murcia is probably new driving territory for you so you have every reason to be extra careful.

4) Belt up. This goes for front and back seat passengers. Take heed of local speed limits and do your homework on local road signs

5) It may seem almost ridiculous to mention this but believe me it happens. Know whether your hire car takes petrol or diesel.

6) Don’t leave any items of value in clear sight when not in the car.

7) If you plan on driving long hours then it may be worth adding an additional driver policy to your car hire agreement. Concentration lapses are likely after many hours of driving so having someone to take over could be very useful.

8 ) Take out a car hire excess insurance policy for extra piece of mind. This is available during the booking process.
