No surprises really from Skyscanner’s survey this week which shows Spain still easily out in front as the favored holiday destination of UK travelers. Old favourites such as France and Italy followed Spain as well as relative newcomer Turkey.
The poll did not just quiz the Brits though with the UK proving a popular holiday destination for Spanish, Polish and American holidaymakers. Due to the weak pound Britain has seen extra tourist visits this year. This result has been borne out by the survey which shows Britain topping the list for the three countries mentioned above.
Speaking on behalf of Skyscanner, Barry Smith said that the results of the survey show that British people are still very happy with Spain and have not been put off by the less than favorable currency rate.
Germans are also flocking to Spain this summer. Portugal and Cyprus are two destinations which do not feature in the top ten for Germans but do so for Brits.
The most popular spots for Spanish travelers after the UK are Italy and the US while Spain and Italy came 2nd and 3rd for Polish tourists. It’s a 123 of the UK, Spain and Italy for US visitors.

The sun is really beating down in Murcia this week which is great news for tourists however precautionary measures should be taken with the area now on a high temperature alert.
The Mediterranean coast of Spain has seen a rise in temperature in many locations this week. Although it can be cloudy at certain times of the day its pretty much non stop sunshine at the moment.
Murcia is posting the highest temperature at the moment at thirty seven degrees while Granada is next up at thirty four degrees. It’s quite a bit cooler in Alicante with temperatures around twenty nine degrees.
Murcia has received a yellow alert warning for high levels of heat. Remember that it takes the human body on average around three weeks to adjust to high levels of sunshine. Bring lots of sun cream preferably factor 30+ particularly if fair skinned. Children can be particularly at risk.
Enjoy the sun safely and don’t let anything spoil your holiday.

According to a recent article in the Telegraph it is currently an excellent time in which to bag a holiday bargain. It seems that many families have opted to holiday at home this summer meaning there are more flights and accommodation available than usual at this time of year.
If you are on a flexible schedule then you could do really well financially this year when it comes to your summer holiday.
Agencies such as Thomas Cook have been advertising cut price offers recently. Speaking on behalf of Travelsupermarket Bob Atkinson stated that there are currently some superb deals available for long haul and short haul trips. He recommended midweek travel and also pointed to the recent improvements in the sterling rate though it is still worse than last summer.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook confirmed that Spain is easily still the most popular destination this year with Greece also proving popular.
The normal surge of early bookings has not happened this summer. A recent report by air traffic company OAG has shown that over one and a half million less people travelled by air from the UK this April compared to the previous year.
There a few simple things you can check and prepare for when hiring a car. Here a few things to look for to unsure you don’t run into any problems.
1) When you arrive at Murcia Airport to pick up your car, take a minute to have a good look at your road map. Work out exactly how you intend on getting to your destination. Getting lost can lead to heightened levels of stress and frustration for all members of your traveling party.
2) Take a minute to sit in your hire car and make a mental note of where everything is such as windscreen wipers, locks, window controls, air conditioning etc. Don’t start fiddling with radio controls while driving. Set this up to your liking before you hit the road.
3) Take your time and don’t be rushed by any impatient drivers. Murcia is probably new driving territory for you so you have every reason to be extra careful.
4) Belt up. This goes for front and back seat passengers. Take heed of local speed limits and do your homework on local road signs
5) It may seem almost ridiculous to mention this but believe me it happens. Know whether your hire car takes petrol or diesel.
6) Don’t leave any items of value in clear sight when not in the car.
7) If you plan on driving long hours then it may be worth adding an additional driver policy to your car hire agreement. Concentration lapses are likely after many hours of driving so having someone to take over could be very useful.
8 ) Take out a car hire excess insurance policy for extra piece of mind. This is available during the booking process.
It can be a time consuming process trawling through various sites looking for travel deals. I’ve done it myself many times looking for accommodation, car hire and flights. It can be an exhausting process and often ultimately unsatisfactory.
It’s difficult to turn on the television these days without seeing some advertisement from a cost comparison website. Many companies have begun to seize on the idea that people want choice but most importantly a simple choice all under one roof.
Instead of visiting multiple sites you could (as an example) find all the top Seville accommodation providers under one roof or all the best Majorca flight deals on one website or in our case all the best Murcia Airport car hire deals right here on this site.
We are continually adding suppliers to our booking engine meaning more choice and better value than ever before. Try a search for yourself and compare prices. Everyone is talking about cost comparison sites these days and it’s easy to see why when you consider the benefits.

Murcia just might be a more affordable holiday location than you think this year.
Though the name of this website is Murcia Airport Car Hire it is actually possible to book car hire in hundreds of other destinations on this site including locations in Murcia City.
For many people it is an obvious option to pick up your hire car at the airport however sometimes people may be arriving in Murcia by different means so it is handier to pick up a rental car in the city.
When you search for a car using our booking engine you can scroll to “Murcia” and when you click search you will be presented with plenty of options for downtown car hire.
There are a few things that need to be taken into account when going down this route. Airports are likely to have a wider range of cars due to much higher demand. They will also generally have longer opening hours. For instance picking up a car at a railway station may mean restricted opening hours as there simply may not be enough demand.
There are over three hundred Spanish car hire locations available on our booking engine. Simply select your preferred options and get searching.

There has been some good news for British tourists over the last few weeks with Sterling showing some improvement in currency rates. Though destinations like Murcia offer great value for money some travelers have been put off by the drop in value against the euro in recent times.
Today’s rate shows the pound trading at 1.18 euro. Towards the end of last year sterling reached an all time low against the euro and the dollar. The recovery is coming at a perfect time for those planning a trip away to Europe or the US.
Experts in the field now hope that the worst is over and that Sterling will continue to strengthen. Even taking into account recent improvements the pound is still around 8c worse off compared to the euro than it was this time last year.
If you are visiting Spain this year then take into account how much you will be paying for food, accommodation, car hire etc. Even with a lower currency rate than last there is still excellent value to be had on a holiday in Spain or other destinations in Europe.
